Galician tourism and beer benchmark

The Estrella Galicia Museum is born in 2019also known as MEGA, a unique space located in the place where the renowned Galician beer originated. More than a simple museum, MEGA is a sensory and interactive experience which invites visitors to immerse themselves in the brewing process with all their senses, as well as to learn about the history of the brand and show the culture surrounding this emblematic beverage.

However, they do not want to forget their roots and the importance of their Galician lands, more precisely A Coruña. And that is why they want to focus much of the objectives with their website.

Thus, they decided to entrust this task to Geotelecom by the end of 2020.We have been working with two of our specialties, SEO services and content writing. And the results obtained since then have maintained this union.

Technical optimization of the website

The initial audit detected problems in crawling, loading and rendering, so we worked with the development team to correct them. The factors affecting performance were analyzed, improvements were proposed and crawling was optimized, eliminating pages and directories that were not useful to improve positioning.

Improved indexing

We optimized content and code (URLs, meta titles, canonicals, headers, structured data, etc.) to better associate each page with its target search. This improved the understanding of the website by search engines, strengthened its positioning and allowed for rich results in SERPs, as well as visibility in Google Discover and event sections.

Increased visibility of the website

To increase traffic and position the website as a reference in Galician tourism, SEO strategy and content writing were integrated. We created a publication calendar aligned with the target searches, always keeping the essence of MEGA and its link with beer.

In addition, we worked on a content ecosystem focused on the user and coordinated with the client to maximize the impact on social networks, email marketing, SEO and the Estrella Galicia Museum itself.

Breadth of outreach to target audiences with tourism content

Keeping in mind the main objective, which apart from improving per se the organic traffic related to the beer world, was also to position in tourist content related to Galicia, much emphasis was placed on the blog.

Thus, using this section as a nerve center, we attacked those topics related to tourism and Galician curiosities that could arouse the interest of visitors. Thanks to the work of the blog, we managed to increase by 310,36% the organic traffic and more than 400% the keywords positioned in the top 3.

Emphasis on communication and planning

Throughout the project, key changes such as redesigns, CMS changes and advanced code optimizations were made. In each migration, a careful process was ensured to protect and even improve the organic positioning.

This work included previous analysis, proposals, follow-up and post-migration adjustments, always in communication with all the teams involved.

Support for migrations and web changes

The success of the project has depended on fluid communication between all parties. Although there have been moments of misunderstanding, addressing them has allowed us to strengthen coordination, redefine objectives and achieve better than expected results.

Project balance and results

With all this we have achieved that Mundo Estrella Galicia has become one of the main websites where you can get information to visit Galicia and A Coruña. A website with an exponential and permanent growth year after year thanks to the evolution of its contents. An example of success that is more than clear in its figures.
