Today, we’re bringing you a Basic Guide to Google Analytics, where you’ll find everything from the platform’s most basic settings to creating custom alerts. It highlights features such as: 1. Goals: Goal = Conversion Goals are actions that have been performed and completed by a user on your website or app. They are configured at the view level within the «Administration» section and can be applied to specific pages visited by users, as well as to events or the duration of their time on the website. There are four types: – Destination: A specific location – Duration: Sessions lasting a certain amount of time or longer – Pages/Screens per session: If the user views a specific number of pages or screens – Event: An action defined as an event is triggered. Once the goals are configured, we can visually track the progression of visitors toward conversion using the conversion funnel chart. Using goals is a practice that helps you understand and analyze the current state of your website. It’s highly recommended for gathering all the important information about your website within Analytics. 2. Time Window: The Time Window report tracks the number of days that have passed from the first ad impression to the conversion. It’s located in the «Conversions» section under «Multichannel Funnels.» It provides information about the product lifecycle; however, as with other reports, if a user switches devices or clears their cookies, the history is lost and the report becomes less valuable. It’s very useful for understanding how long it takes a user to make a purchase decision. This is very useful information when creating audiences to retarget users of your website. 3. Custom Alerts: This is an excellent way to stay informed when something unusual occurs in your account without having to log in to the platform. It works very simply: you just need to decide which metrics are relevant to your website, set up the alert, and when a significant change occurs, Google Analytics will send you a notification.
