How to Create Your Marketing Automation Workflows with Connectif's Copilot

There are only a few weeks left until Black Friday 2026, and, as is the case every year, most e-commerce teams face the same bottleneck: there’s a lot to prepare and not enough time to get it all done.

This year, Connectif has made Copilot, its AI assistant, the centerpiece of campaign preparation: you describe what you want to achieve, and it sets up the workflow for you. But let's clarify something: Just because an AI can create a workflow in minutes doesn't mean that workflow is any good. In this article, we'll explain what's really changing with AI in the marketing automation and which decisions still require sound judgment.

How AI Is Changing Black Friday Preparations in E-commerce

Segment the database, set up workflows, review data… all of this before November rolls around. This is exactly the part that AI makes easier. That’s why Copilot is taking center stage this year: What used to take hours can now be done with just a request.

Copilot, Connectif's AI assistant

Instead of dragging triggers, conditions, and actions, describe the objective. From there, Copilot sets up the workflow and walks you through each step.

If you have any questions, you can ask them in the chat. And once the campaign is up and running, Copilot can review the results and point out opportunities for improvement. With Black Friday just around the corner, it’s now much more convenient: You go from setting things up to reviewing and deciding.

Connectif's Black Friday Prompts

Connectif hasn't stopped at just the tool. It has published a A set of 10 prompts designed for Black Friday, ready to use in Copilot, so that setting up each workflow is just a matter of entering a prompt.

Each one covers a key moment in the campaign: Paste it into Copilot to set up the workflow, then review it, make any necessary adjustments, and activate it. These range from customizing your website for anonymous traffic or capturing subscribers with a pop-up, to recovering abandoned carts through various channels or re-engaging customers who made purchases on Black Friday weeks later.

How to Write a Prompt for Copilot: The Example of Abandoned Shopping Carts

The kit is a good shortcut, but you have to be careful. A generic prompt results in a generic workflow. For the same goal (recovering abandoned shopping carts), compare two requests:

Generic prompt:
“Create a workflow for recovering abandoned carts.”

Copilot will set it up without any trouble… but the result will be the same as with any other store.

Prompt with context:
“Set up a shopping cart recovery campaign for Black Friday, from November 24 to 30. Send a push notification after 2 hours, an email listing the items in the cart after 24 hours, and an SMS after 48 hours—only if the customer hasn’t made a purchase. Include the sample code BF26 only starting with the second message; exclude those who have already made a purchase; and do not send more than one message per day to the same person.”

That's what Connectif itself recommends: Provide Copilot with as much context as possible, from discount codes to your Black Friday channels and dates. The prompts in the kit are a good starting point, but they’re designed for any store: it’s up to you to provide the valuable information that sets you apart.

What to Check Before Activating an AI-Generated Workflow

Always review the proposed workflow before activating it, paying particular attention to these three points:

  • Incentive and margin. Deciding who gets which discount is a business decision. For a repeat customer, early access may work better than another type of discount.
  • Saturation. On launch days and in the final hours, multiple automations may send messages to the same person at the same time. Review the sending limits and priorities across workflows.
  • Departure Conditions. What happens if the user makes a purchase halfway through the sequence? Make sure they exit the flow at that point and stop receiving messages and codes they no longer need.

And before launching it, Try it with a test contact.
