Amazon Prime Day 2026: from June 23rd to 26th. Prepare your strategy ahead of time and without improvising.

Prime Day is Amazon's highest traffic event of the year. In 2026, Amazon has confirmed that the event will take place from June 23rd to 26th. This changes the scale of the planning compared to previous two-day editions. For marketers, it's a real opportunity to accelerate sales, improve organic positioning and win new customers. But it's also the time when preparation errors have the biggest impact.

In this article we will review the key points of a good Prime Day Amazon strategyWhat types of offers can you use, how to structure the weeks leading up to the event, and what it means if the event is now four days long.

What changes on Amazon Prime Day 2026?

The last two editions of Prime Day underperformed expectations. Moving the event to June responds to several of Amazon's objectives: push demand into the second quarter, create separation with October's Big Deal Days and pull away from competitors that have replicated a similar promotional calendar in the summer and fall.

For vendors, the date change has concrete consequences:

  • ADS budgets move from Q3 to Q2. If your planning was oriented to July, it now needs to be adjusted.
  • The inventory planning is moved forward 4-6 weeks compared to previous editions.
  • The promotional plans (also outside Amazon) need to be rebuilt with the new date as a reference.
  • If you sell on your own website or other channels, review your multichannel pricing strategy beforehand. Amazon tracks prices on other channels, and having a lower price outside of Amazon may affect the eligibility of your offers or the stability of the Buy Box. Moving the event to June also brings forward the time when that alignment needs to be resolved.

The 4-day Prime Day: how it changes shopping behavior.

Going from 2 to 4 days does not double total sales; rather, the final volume is similar. What changes is the type of buyer. A longer format allows time for make a decision more calmly, to compare products and act less impulsively.

The most powerful days tend to be the first and the last. The first one concentrates the highest accumulated purchase intention. The last one generates urgency to close. The middle days have less volume. Distributing the budget linearly among the four days is a mistake.

There is an additional consequence that affects the product sheets: the buyer who buys on the 4th has probably seen the listing two or three times before to make up their mind. Title, images and bullets have to be convincing for someone who looks again, not only for the impulse of the first moment.

Deals accepted by Amazon vs. coupons: the difference that defines your strategy

Prime Days offers require Amazon's approval and generate a visible badge on the event page. In Spain, France and Italy, Amazon's official rates for Prime Day 2026 are:

  • Advance fee: 10 € per offer
  • Variable rate: 0.5 % of sales, with a limit of 300 €.

These fees are charged when the offer is published, regardless of whether there are sales. If you cancel once the offer is active, the fee is not refunded.

Coupons do not require approval, are more agile and generate a green badge in search results. Important: coupons and offers have independent rates.

The usual strategy is reserve accepted bids for ASINs with higher margin and expected volume, and use coupons for the rest of the catalog. Always calculating the total cost of the promotion before activating it.

The real preparation starts weeks before

A Amazon Prime Day strategy well executed is not built in the days leading up to the event. These are the usual phases:

  • 6-5 weeks before: account auditing, selection of candidate ASINs, stock and profitability analysis by product, submission of product requests for Prime Days to Amazon.
  • 3-2 weeks before: configuration of coupons, activation of Ads warm-up campaigns, gradual increase of Ads budget (+20-30%), verification of the status of sent offers.
  • 1 week before: review of critical points, that promotions are visible, that the stock in FBA is sufficient, that the Buy Box is active, that the product cards are optimized to convert with the extra traffic.
  • During the event: active monitoring every few hours, remaining advertising budget, real-time ACOS, Buy Box status.
  • Post-event: active retargeting for 2 weeks, extraction of Search Terms Report, performance analysis by campaign and ASIN, report with learnings and recommendations for future occasions.

Do you have your account ready to take advantage of Prime Day?
